Part 1 of the season done, 14 race days and a lifetime of memories.
I care deeply for this off-road project I’ve built. Coming from road to the gravel full time in 2023 with the dream of coming back to road and race professionally at the top level of the sport. This year I’m beginning to realize that dream.
It’s not easy and the balance of the two challenges my mental energy, demanding intense focus on both disciplines. The results on the off road calendar have been a step back from what I’ve hoped- a mixture of overcoming mental barriers on the dirt and various other factors. The road has gone well- I’ve proved to myself that I can get back into the road peloton and be a useful teammate and I’ve shown a progression towards results that will carry me to the next level in the pro peloton. I’m fired up about that.
In gravel- doing well by my sponsors means performing at the pointy end of the races and creating valuable media and relationships for the brand. I’ve done well with the latter - and the results in those races will come soon. I’m getting better. My next race will be at the @graveladventurepl UCI Gravel race where I had a breakout result last year finishing 5th place. This year I’m chasing the podium.
Tomorrow I will head up to Andorra for a focused altitude block and to absorb the learnings and level that the last 7 weeks of travel and racing has brought me. I’m so stoked for this time of peace and focused training in the mountains. The mountains always bring out something special in me.

The Traka morning was a blur, let’s keep it that way
A ride to forget, but a the @thetraka is a powerful weekend. After the last 7 weeks of travel and racing the body gave in and I was having terrible cramps in the lower back almost immediately on the climbs. Trying to stretch on the descents and cramping even more- I called it a day early. Not proud of that, especially after a ride last weekend at Levi’s that I was very stoked on.
There’s work to do, and I’ll make up for this weekend at the races ahead.

Still haven’t cracked it this year on the dirt, with a less than notable result yesterday at the Sea Otter Gravel race. The start to this season hasn’t given the goods quite yet but I made some big steps in how I feel on the gravel (after the first 40 minutes 🤦♂️). Doing my best to be patient with it as I know the best races are yet to come. I still managed to have a good bit of fun out there AND got some rad @roszko shots 🙏.
Race aside, I love the festival weekend here in Monterey. Old friends and new faces make it such a fulfilling week. A few more gorgeous days ahead, with @levisgranfondo up next.

What an awesome first time doing this iconic American stage race. Super stoked that @ethan.dnm1 won the KOM jersey and @phclew walked away with a strong top 10 in the GC. Congrats boys.

A really tough day out at @thehillsgravel . Spent the day as the nail and missed out on a race that was a big goal for me. Bummed. This is one of the feelings that bike racing brings and that’s part of its beauty. This sport is too beautiful to not care and have strong feelings about it.
I’ll be back to these prosecco hills,
