I did not intend to draw na-palm torches.
I did intend to draw a flaming homosexual, dancing joyously representative of something maybe hot enough to encourage some of this dangerously slippery ice to weep itself into something wet and uncomfortable, yet vastly more appealing—like a filthy puddle that begs to be stomped on for the fun of it.
But for my strongly justified resentment for the cold & disgusting climate we live in, (and subsequent desire to escape to warmth and comfort) .. home is where I stay.
The Maltese Islands have been an attractive travel destination, though—it overwhelmingly earns its almost sinfully open pride for a climate that is consistently comfortable, stable, safe, and easy to transition to. #bl #ocdrawing #lightthefireitsfuckinfreezing

For @glamvampsburlesque ‘s upcoming show! Depicted is Lili Elbe (1882-1931)—a Danish Artist, and powerfully open Transwoman during the German Reich. Despite significant and increasing danger of persecution, she successfully obtained a legal name and gender change (including passport), was among the earliest recipients of gender affirming surgery, and became the first known recipient of a uterus transplant. Her care was given at the Hirschfeld Institute of Sexual Science, the first research center of its kind—later destroyed by the Nazi Government Censorship program just two years after her last surgery and subsequent death, barely 100 days into Adolf Hitler’s reign. Unlike Hitler, she was a successful painter—in spirit of this, I chose to dress her as a modern woman to close the distance between history and present, as well as icon and human being. Whatever she may now represent, she was a life lived as truly, vividly, imperfectly, and relevantly as our’s. We have our own history to shape, and a responsibility toward what it represents.
