Day 1 wrapped of my (I think) 8th Mothers Day Event. It’s only gotten bigger and more detailed - this year with a set made entirely by my hands and with a lot of love, I *love* how the it. turned out and even more the photos that were taken. 7 shoots today and back at it next week for the next batch of babes - and I just couldn’t love more being able to serve and give to the women im able to. As my signage said, she does it best. And doesn’t she?? Women rule the world and im here to document em. Can’t wait to look over the images from today’s for now….here’s a few of the setup and a queen and her girls. Getting you in your space, comfy, there’s always an extra element of candid moments and inspiration from light and natural things that don’t happen in studio. Her shoot was beautiful, sadly….most of my phone content is gone from when i was robbed but somehow a few photos came up on my new phone still. excited to get to the real thing…..these are just iPhone imagery. Well well well, if you travel, you know things come up and surprises happen, mishaps occur and….Sunday…mid-day, while scouting in DTLA for a literal 45 minutes on the street, I was mugged, robbed….whatever you wanna call it. Two men on bikes rode up behind me and snatched my phone out of my hand (as I was texting my client) and rode off. I tried to chase them (in sandals) and a man was right there watching, they literally rode behind a cop car, I was banging on the cops windows “I was just robbed!!!” And he rolled down their window, said ok and kept driving. I ran thru the streets obviously no way to find them, got turned around and lost and had a stranger help point me in the direction of my hotel, crying and feeling super vulnerable downtown alone and lost, …..made it back to my hotel, turned on the find my iPhone and could see where the guys were. Turns into a longer story I don’t need to tell - still did my shoot 30 minutes later, had a cry in my hotel room….and then called the police, filed a report, all along the guys who had my phone were literally in a McDonald’s 13 minutes away but I was alone, no way to uber there, drive there without GPS, nor did I want to face them alone as a girl on my own. Police tried to help but all in all - it was gone. It’s insane how naked you feel without a phone - in a city, navigating to the airport at 6am, running on 3 hours of sleep and written down directions like it’s 1995. Moments like that (and they can happen to either gender) but it sure does make you realize that as a solo woman….really anything can happen to you and in a way, you can’t do much. Im very grateful they didn’t hurt me, & while at the time it felt massive because as a photographer - my entire business is on there, I had no idea if it was backed up recently (it was on Thursday in seattle) so I lost much of what I’d taken for clients the past days of shoots but overall just feels so vulnerable with someone having access to your personal things, banking, and all that. I have a new phone in hand, I made it back to seattle safely and feel happy to be back in my city. It was an amazing trip - super packed - just with a twist of a bad ending. Byyye LA.

I sit here, usually on the other corner after all my boudoir sessions and it’s a long light so I often look thru my iPhone content of that day and bask in my overall post shoot high. it’s my favorite corner. only im leaving my city for a warm city today. SEA —> LA for 4 days of shoots, some sun and a general lovely time.

Had a baby and can and came back to say mmmm yea actually I feel more comfortable in my skin now, and I wear the scar with pride. There’s no way to translate online what the energy feels like on a session. I literally leave on such a high, we’re creating and vibing and the music is at a 10, I’m telling her to hold still and she’s having the best time and truly there’s a reason why the majority of my clients come from word of mouth. She leaves and says ommmmg more women need to do this and proceed to tell her friends what the experience was like. And I’ll never tire from the feeling I get making her feel sexy, seen, empowered and beautiful. This @thistleandspire set was sennnnding me.
