All running, burbling and pouring nicely after a fine tune, copper pipe, detailing and several coats of paint.👍🏻
Time for a celebratory biscuit!🍪

This March, artist Emma Gregory presented a curated selection titled ‘Play-grounding'. Included in this selection is 'Physis', 2026 by Andrew Revell @andrewprojects
The art breaks out when the thinking stops and my being becomes doing.
When I’m on a roll every piece is a surprise, I like to be lost - I binned ‘narratives’ and ‘concepts’ years ago.
If I catch myself second guessing in the studio - alarms sound - STOP! - do something functional or tidy up and go home.
Cutting, chopping, sticking with unsentimental freedom, giving priority to joy, play and letting the artwork reveal itself.
Master material so it doesn’t get in your way, paying attention to the phenomena and being in the moment.
Nurture the forms, exploit frictions, animate space.

#Water 💦 unruly stuff - finally nailed the exit flow
You could cut yourself on that lip now - like a knife! 🔪🩸
For half the year my studio is usually damp and leaky like a godforsaken U-Boat, an internal fountain is somewhat contradictory!!
The work must be done 👊🏻🛠️
Robin Greenwood a memorial show at Thameside studios opened last Saturday.
The show has a book with extracts from Robins writings and recollections of his influence from artists who knew him and an essay by Sam Cornish, the curator of this show together with Sarah, Robins widow and Charley , his son.
I had a chuckle about the following extract that Robin wrote in 2009 where it appears he might have been suggesting that sculpture would be making the next breakthrough in abstraction.
Implication? That perhaps painters weren’t cutting it? I think it pissed a few of his painter friends but agitated activity on Ab crit , or was it Brancaster Chronicles?
“On Sculpture
The truly radical and liberating
thing for sculpture to do now would be to begin to unravel the confusion between what constitutes genuine sculptural three-dimensionality and what is merely literal objecthood. In doing so, sculpture may become authentically visual again, and can show the way forward for painting - a not entirely unprecedented scenario in art history, and one that to me sounds healthier than its opposite - sculpture derived from painting - which has often pertained over the last hundred years.”
I’m sure he meant it but also knew that it would wind up his abstract painter friends..
All artists need a good prodding every now and again to avoid complacency.
