Making a baseline with the Intellijel Atlantis sequenced by the Doepfer Darktime. Filter completely closed, envelope at about halfway. I start out with a square wave, then eventually add a saw. At one point I open the filter so you can hear exactly what the synth is doing.The Darktime has a lil bit of shuffle to it as well. Really helps with the funky aspects of it. Switching it up a little this morning, Atlantis is handling the baseline , being sequenced by the Dark Time. I usually used the Edge. The synth is the Kobol expander utilizing the second oscillator to modulate the first one for some FM goodness. Kobol is being sequenced with a 7 step sequence from the metropolis. RD9 jam this morning. I use two RD9’s because I’m a fiend for the 909. Both of them are running individual outs on most voices and each is processed differently. One machine is running in authentic mode (classic tr909 parameters) and the other one (top) is running in enhanced mode, which give it more tweakability. I also have a hi pass filer mapped to the filter cuttoff knob on one machine that controls a hi pass filter on my mixbus. That works great for “live” jamming. Recording this entirely on my IPhone using its mic. Still sounds amazing I think.#techno #livetechno #rd9 #behringer #tr909

How I process my Kick for the RD9 (909). I use and individual out into my interface then process with cubase via a kick channel that goes into a drum bus then into my mix bus for more headroom control. Things like saturation and the lovely Pultech “Kick Trick” makes a big difference. I also do not use a lot of decay, which may sound strange, but I prefer to have a baseline augment my kick drum. Stepic is an incredibly powerful step sequencer plugin. At $50 it’s a steal. So many options and almost unlimited steps, countless randomization of note, octave, velocity, duration, step divide and shuffle. The outcomes are endless. I was wanting to create longer sequences, with some variations. This works perfectly.
