I had a pretty amazing memory of the last time I watched Peter Grimes @royalballetandopera so to be as impressed as I am now, after this performance of the @deborahwarner.59 production must mean this was an amazing night at the opera. Perfect chorus, orchestra & cast. Chapeau! Bravo!!

🎭 The UK premiere of the Baroque chamber opera Auto da Catingueira (1969) by Brazilian composer Elomar Figueira Mello — free to attend.
Conceived and directed by Rio de Janeiro-based director André Heller-Lopes, this new staging blends baroque instrumentation with the sonic landscape of Brazil’s northeastern sertão, offering a fresh perspective on the work and drawing connections between Brazilian folklore and the aesthetics of composers such as Monteverdi, Cavalli and Caccini.
Performed in the original Portuguese by Brazilian singers Gabriela Pace, Vinícius Atique, Giovanni Tristacci and Geilson Santos, alongside the Amsterdam-based Apollo Ensemble.

The UK/Brazil Season of Culture 2025-26 is a year-long cultural exchange between the two countries that showcases the diverse and vibrant arts sectors of both nations. It marks 200 years of diplomatic relations and is designed to strengthen and build cultural connections between the UK and Brazil. It is a joint initiative between the British Council and Brazil’s Instituto Guimarães Rosa (IGR). The artistic programme across both countries encompasses theatre, film, dance, music, literature, visual arts and design and features a series of talks and academic conferences.
Not everyday we get to watch a singer that pretty much is THE Tosca, embodying the role with voice and personality that it pretty much becomes her own. @sondraradvanovsky is one of the great Tosca of her generation — and many more. Uma das melhores práticas na hora de escolher um elenco é justamente o que fazem vários teatros europeus ao abrirem audições: convidam ao maestro e o encenador para escutar e opinar, tudo junto com a direção do teatro. Hoje, a tecnologia me deixa bem perto do meus colegas da Polônia. Nunca pensei que escutar dez vezes seguidas ao mesmo 5teto, 8 árias de Micaela brilhantemente cantadas e algumas Seguidille e Habanera pudessem ser tão divertidas!
Nessa cidade espetacular que é Madrid, encontro uma obra e uma espetáculo transbordantes de imaginação e talento, na encenação de @beatriz_arguello_oficial para a @teatroclasico (Cia. Nacional de Teatro Clássico). Falta espaço e adjetivos para elogiar essa noite de verdadeiro teatro de equipe! BRAVIIIIIIIII !!!
