𝐴𝑚𝑝ℎ𝑖𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑡𝑒 (𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑃𝑎𝑟𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑛𝑜𝑛 𝑆𝑐𝑢𝑙𝑝𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑒𝑠 / 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝐸𝑙𝑔𝑖𝑛 𝑀𝑎𝑟𝑏𝑒𝑙𝑠) Pheidas, 438BC-432BC Marble Marble statue from the West pediment of the Parthenon (West pediment O). The West pediment showed the mythical contest between Athena and Poseidon for supremacy over the land of Attica. The female torso is clad in a long sleeveless chiton, girdled high with a metal belt, which is now missing. Five holes in the marble mark other places where metal ornaments were attached. The head, right arm from the shoulder, left arm from below the shoulder, and all the lower limbs except the upper part of the left thigh are missing. There are two parts of forearms, that are possibly parts of this statue; one is with a plaster cast of the wrist (reg.no GR 1816.6-10.314 / GR 1816.6-10.343), the original is in Athens. The surface of the sculpture is weathered. The statue has been identified as Amphitrite, wife of Poseidon. On the pediment she probably served as his charioteer. – The British Museum

𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑆𝑐𝑢𝑙𝑝𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝑆𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑠 Gufram x Snarkitecture for Gallery All, 2023. Design Week Milan Polyurethane foam Gufram and long standing collaborator Snarkitecture, the New York-based design practice founded by Daniel Arsham and Alex Mustonen, present THE SCULPTED SERIES, Gufram’s artistic solution for a total living. Radical and monumental, the SCULPTED SERIES is a family of five domestic sculptures available only in black or white including a bookshelf, a bar cabinet, an armchair, a coffee table and low table. As in all sculptures, each piece from the SCULPTED SERIES is made by hand by Gufram’s trained artisans starting from a block of polyurethane foam to achieve the concrete-looking texture. The sculpted pieces are then coated with Guflac® Ultra, the contemporary evolution of Guflac®, the special paint invented by Gufram over 50 years ago, which makes each piece incredibly durable and weather-resistant. Guflac® Ultra is applied entirely by hand, enabling the polyurethane to maintain its elasticity and softness, opening the conversation to new aesthetic experimentations. – Gufram
