What a lovely show of mom’s works last night, along with works by Temre Stanchfield at the Station Gallery in DE. Wonderful to have family and friends there to celebrate mom, Louise Clearfield, and honor her memory. A special treat that @chapellphyllis played music, and that one of mom’s large paintings already sold. We thank Nancy Bercaw and @thestationgallery gallery for their longstanding special relationship with our mom and her works. @nancy.johnson.art Bercaw

It was exciting to hear Long Live the Queen (a her-story of drag) cantata from beginning to end for the first time tonight at Theater Exile’s workshop reading with Cookie Diorio (The Queen) and soloists. The conversation with the audience at the end was stimulating. I can’t wait to hear it with the full cast, including 4 choruses and orchestra. Join us at the premiere at the Wilma Theater on June 18,19,20 as part of the @artphilly What Now citywide festival. Deep thank you to Director Deborah Block, conductor Liz Braden, pianist Sarah Thune and the wonderful soloists: Shahara Benson, Gabriel Feldt, Megnot Toggia, Michael Miller and of course my extraordinary collaborator, Cookie! @artphilly2026 @theatreexile @megnot @michaelcharles_93 @gabrielfeldt @lizbraden @debblock13 @shahara_marie

I’m really looking forward to hearing DUO for Symphony & Stix performed by the fabulous West Powelton Drumline (aka Sixers Stixers) under the direction of Antoine Mapp and the Main Line Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Don Liuzzi tomorrow night! It was an amazing journey writing this work, commissioned by Musicopia. Some photos from rehearsals. Tickets at @mainlinesymphonyorchestra The drummers will be racing over to perform from the Sixers game, where they’re also performing! Hope to see some of you there!

Legendary Philadelphia jazz pianist and composer Tom Lawton is returning to the Szalon, this time with Eli Pace on bass! Tom is an innovative and sensitive artist and a sought-after teacher who has performed with countless jazz luminaries and recorded his own works. His playing seamlessly weaves together many styles from swing, bebop to classical and avant-garde. Tom will perform his original work “Endgame” with Eli Pace. Eli began his professional performing career at 15 in Columbus, OH. Since his arrival in Philadelphia, Eli has maintained a busy schedule as both a sideman and bandleader. I’m thrilled to welcome Tom and Eli on Sunday! There are still seats left. To join in person in center city Philly, or on zoom, visit or link in bio. SZEE you at the SZALON! 🌸💜🤩🤩💜🌸 @tomlawton @elipace
