Maybe it’s a life stage thing but I often feel this disconnect between what I believe in: reflection and intentional living and what actually happens day to day: constant reactions, putting out fires and just trying to stay on top of adult things.
I have only just caught on to how necessary it is to take a step away from the grind, and not wait until that big holiday. Being in nature, letting your environment guide your plans… knowing there’s more than enough time to do nothing and not feel bad about it.
My boyfriend and I were invited to @the_woodcotegraffham and everything was so perfect - the loveliest, warmest staff and alpacas, horses and donkeys across the road and the quaintest village to adventure in.
When did we start to believe that our bodies look or feel better encased in plastics? No scaremongering, just real talk: we need synthetics in performance wear. But we don’t need that many of them. And unless you’re doing high intensity training or cardio, technical fabrics aren’t required.
Comment “natural activewear” for a link to these items. Honestly, I think the seamless silk pants and the thick but breathable cotton leggings are the best find IMO.
Good old cotton (even organic) is cheaper than most of these designer activewear brands and only needs a small % for the absolute stretchiest of items (like bralettes or bodysuits). If you’re unsure what needs to be synthetic and what doesn’t, anything that looks like it can be lounged in is your first sign. Tank tops, vests and loose shorts or trousers may have an elasticated elements but the material doesn’t need to be fully or even mostly plastics.
A lightweight knit > a tshirt when I don’t know what to wear. These formulas alwaayyyss work, in order of how styled you like to be -ad:
1. A light knit + drapey trousers + trenchcoat + low heel
2. A light knit + jeans + blazer + seasonal shoes
3. A light knit + bikini/bralette + midi skirt + sandals
Comment “easy dressing options” for the links to these and natural fibre only alternatives I’ve collected from my IRL reviews.
And check out @ledge.eu they’re a great app championing small made in Europe businesses and constantly are adding more makers and brands for us to explore
When you know what makes something look expensive, it totally changes your personal style. This suit was fantastic to begin with - 100% wool and @thewoolmarkcompany verified. I bought it on @vinted for about £80 and transformed it into THIS 🙌🏼
Can you guess what changes (try to find 3!) I made? Clues are in the video 🐅
