I had a wonderful time at Bloom at Kessler yesterday! The lovely residents I work with have various memory issues and it's a joy to bring these people joy 💜 During one of my visits the activity director explained the importance of creating happy memories and making things. These types of actions help the residents' cognition from declining further. I've noticed this factoid in my former students as well as myself. I'm going to leave that bit of information right there for you to do what you will with it 🫶🏼 When The Village visits a place, the goal is always, first and foremost--joy. This was a private event, schedules for upcoming events will be posted soon. The Village is dedicated to the women of Indianapolis who keep art alive. After its completion each of the 13 panels will be sold in a silent auction. In case you need a reminder right now--you are surrounded by love. We got to see some AMAZING ART on Valentine's Day at Central Library's Meet the Artist event! It was especially nice seeing @thekkreatiff and @luv.deazy and getting some big hugs. A couple weeks ago I designed and published my first knitting pattern! It's been well received which was a surprise and blessing. Proceeds from its sale go to @iuya and @catsonacouch The day I published the pattern I also purchased tickets to see @badbadhats for Arlon's b'day and gave Kerry a hat and face protection I knit for the pattern preview.
