8.27.25 I went back and forth on whether to share this because I usually keep the hardest parts of life off the internet. But to pretend that Jonathan, his love, and his loss, hasn’t changed me as a person and as an artist would be a disservice to his memory. • Every night our last week together, Jonathan was talking about the future, our future. He always told me he couldn’t picture life long-term but suddenly he wanted to know what I wanted and where we were going. How we’d build a home with a garage/studio for drift cars and bikes and space for me to paint. • Every day since he’s passed someone who loves Jonathan has thanked me for making him feel so loved, so cared for, so unconditionally wanted. The truth is, he made me feel the same. He made me feel seen, like every little thing about me was worth loving. I’m grateful to know I was that person for him too. He spoke of it so often there isn’t a story I could tell that others haven’t already heard. He never grew tired of talking about me, of sharing how proud he was. He wanted the whole world to know it. • I’ll always hold close how we were never shy about saying it. How important it was to both of us that nothing went unsaid, that every gesture of care was noticed, celebrated, and returned tenfold. We never let each other forget how much we mattered. • Recently, I was sharing some of my favourite Tennessee Williams poems with Jonathan, and one letter keeps replaying in my mind: "I am sitting at my kitchen table waiting for my lover to arrive with lettuce and tomatoes and rum and sherry wine and a big floury loaf of bread in the fading sunlight. Coffee is percolating gently, and my mood is mellow. I have been very happy lately, just wallowing in it selfishly, knowing it will not last very long, which is all the more reason to enjoy it now. I suppose life always ends badly for almost everybody. We must have long fingers and catch at whatever we can while it is passing near us." • I am still at my kitchen table, waiting to hear his motorcycle pull in so I can run downstairs, be wrapped in his arms, and hear him ask, "todo mía?" And I’ll always remember the look on his face when I whispered back, "todo tuya."

I feel like this is a really great example of how much my darks settle as it heals, Twigs body currently looks much lighter than the face but once healed it’ll deepen and settle into tones much closer to Twig’s face. I’ve had a few people reach out to book asking if I’m still tattooing right now and the answer is yes, I’m still here and booking for winter. Things have just been looking a little different lately (no 8+ hour sessions atm but I'll get back there). Everyone has shown me so much patience and compassion as I navigate my grief and find my rhythm again. I say it all the time, but I really do have the best clients.
