Weingut Andi Mann is now (back) in Norway 🇳🇴
31st of May 2023 was the first time I tried Andi’s wines in Norway. They had just been imported by Mousey Wine and I tried a good part of the range at a tasting in Oslo. I liked them all and was excited to see more of them in Norway. Forward a few years and Mousey Wines are no longer operational, Andi and many others disappear from the market.
Then, during @naturalmysticssweden 3rd of May last year I randomly met Andi at one of the afterparties and we spoke briefly about getting him back to Norway. End of story (for now).
Then later that year as I was trying to find a place to work and stay for the fall, I talked to @terroirmerroir if she knew someone and she got me in contact with Andi who was generous enough to help me last year.
Then after harvest, he and the team joined me to @skinorangewinefest in October and during that trip also met Marius from @nebbiolowines who loved the wines and wanted to import them.
After 4 months living and working here, I didn’t feel like it was time to leave when Christmas came. So I came back in March and now live and work here - fully!
This release means a lot to me personally and I am very proud of my part in this journey. All wines have been packed and prepared by me and @mac_on_ish and I really hope you all enjoy the wines.
And for the orange wines, Mischkultur Weiss is an aromatic and fun entry level orange that you can enjoy in any occasion. The Calx Grauburgunder is a beautiful orange Pinot Gris that even your parents will like.

Das hier ist sicher nicht der erste Post, in dem wir über die Verbundenheit durch gemeinsames Lernen, über das WG-Leben während der Studienzeit und über die damit einhergehenden gemeinsamen ausschweifenden Abende sprechen. In Geisenheim ist das offensichtlich keine Seltenheit.
Schon viel seltener ist es dann aber wohl, wenn man neben all diesen Gemeinsamkeiten auch noch den Vornamen teilt.
Andi und Andi tun das. Während des gemeinsamen Studiums waren die Stunden im Hörsaal durchaus hilfreich, das Probieren mit den Kommilitonen aber mindestens ebenso. Und so tranken sich Andi und Andi in die Naturweinwelt ein und wurde inspiriert, neue Wege einzuschlagen. Nun schon seit einigen Jahren zurück in Iphofen und in Eckelsheim in der Rheinhessischen Schweiz, wuchs die Freundschaft weiter, und der gegenseitige Austausch befruchtete beider Winzer Schaffen. Mittlerweile sind Andi Weigand und Andi Mann aus der deutschen Naturweinlandschaft gar nicht mehr wegzudenken. Wer mit den beiden schon einmal Zeit auf und nach einer Weinmesse verbrachte, weiß, dass sie nicht nur meisterlich im Weinmachen sind, sondern auch darin eine Party am Laufen zu halten. Das liegt am rheinhessischen Charme des Andi Manns und natürlich auch an den Auflegkünsten des Andi Weigands. Und so sollte es auf keinen Fall unerwähnt bleiben, dass dieser auch während des Absackers auf der FrankeFreunde bestes Vinyl dabei haben wird. Während er auf den Plattenteller anrichtet, serviert das Team vom @emmametzler_restaurant kleine Teller mit hervorragenden Speisen. Und dazu dann ein wahrhaft meisterlicher Riesling aus Rheinhessen vom Andi Mann. Sollte wohl nicht verpasst werden!

We are excited to announce a double bill of German winemakers coming to Flawd on Saturday 1st November!
@andi.mann.e and Christine Pieroth of @piri.naturel will be joining us at the bar all day to share their wine and stories. We’ve been working with their wines since the beginning and can’t wait to welcome these two amazing winemakers to Manchester!
Christine is based in the village of Burg Layen in the Nahe region (located roughly halfway between the Mosel area and the city of Frankfurt). The Pieroth family has cultivated vineyards in the region since 1781 and now it’s Christine’s turn, using biodynamic farming methods, breathing fresh air into the deep roots and old barrels. Biodiversity is a big topic for Christine and the flora of the vineyards are represented on the labels of her bottles. Her wines are graceful, different and unmistakably lively.
Andi Mann also comes from a family with a long history of winemaking. The Mann family settled in Eckelsheim in the region of Rheinhessen in 1699 to build a farm and plant vines and Andi realised his desire to take over the family domain after his studies with biodiversity and nature in mind. Andi says that “natural wines are about openness and intensity of taste” and this is certainly felt with his wines.

This time we got @andi.mann.e to talk about Riesling and why it is so important to him over a bottle of Herr Kretz 2020. Made with Riesling from his best plots in select vintages in other words his pride and joy. To be honest it’s also our first time seeing this wine.
