Wildcat at 54 Below last week was, well, WILD. An extraordinary evening celebrating Grandpa, Lucy, Cy Coleman, and Carolyn Leigh. It’s been a minute since I was on the 54 stage as a soloist, and I was beyond honored to sing grandpa’s songs that night. I think I did the old man proud.

I never fully understood motherhood until I got to see Lindsey become a Mom.
Watching her raise our son, nurture and nourish him, play with him, laugh with him, teach to walk and swim and dance and talk, make him feel safe and confident; it’s a gift unlike any other.
My appreciation for our Moms (now grandmas!) @mcutler143 & @kjmader and what they did for us all our lives is immense.
So much love for the Moms today and all they do. Especially one mom in particular - my wife and mother of our son - @lindseybop .

I was blown away watching lindseybop step up onto that stage and absolutely slay it. Guys, she dusted that song off TWO DAYS AGO. Insanely proud husband right here. 🤯🥹🤍
It was a fantastic evening showcasing Beacon talent hosted by the incomparable @willcreynolds and the imitable @alexgkunz (with an amazing opening number assist by @chrisamsofficial ).

Rome, 2004. This is me playing Sarastro in The Magic Flute at Operafestival di Roma at the Santivo alla Sapienza outdoor cathedral near Piazza Navona. The audience knew every word to every aria and mouthed the words as we sang.
I got my degree in classical voice at SFSU (minor in theatre) before I traveled to Italy to sing the role. I lived and sang in Rome for almost a year before I made my way back to the states, moved to New York City, and made my Broadway debut.
Though at times it was incredibly difficult, those years of learning, training, singing, and performing made me the artist I am today. I wouldn’t trade it. Not for anything.
Opera matters. Ballet matters. The classical arts matter.
