Yorkville Heritage: A Vision Among Possibilities - by @ancerlstudio
When a home carries a heritage designation, strict guidelines and considerable regulatory oversight can surround even a modest renovation, let alone a full addition. Our general rule of thumb has been that additions not visible from the street stand a reasonable chance of approval.
This project challenged that thinking. With a generous gap between neighbouring homes and an ambition to extend wider than the existing heritage house, we responded with a design we believed had genuine architectural interest ā and Toronto Heritage agreed.
