My fascination with spaces have always made me go and stand in the most weirdest places i can get myself into.
But somehow very randomly it happens that i stand opposite to a wall that makes me wonder, smile and astonish all in the same breath.
A wall that very silently but boldly defies against the status quo. A wall that says that its important for people to be who they and not make them be anything or anyone else. In honour of defiance over being a sheep.
A wall next to the Shamina Shah Dargah in Old Lucknow happens to stand tall since 5 years without a single malice of a random poster that hides its message.
A wall so perfect in its position that the sun shines but never overdoes itself. A wall that says one very simple thing. Let me be for i am myself and not for you to define.
Here’s what’s written on the wall :
Meri tamanna hai ki
Ek aisa jahan ho
Meri zindagi sirf meri ho
Khwabon mein na koi feri ho
Aasaad khayal ho na koi sawaal
Ho ummeed o ishq ka hi kamaal
Hum bahar nikle khuli saans le
Pinjra tode udaan le
Jahan rukawaton ka naam na ho
Meri tamana haraam na ho
Har sparsh meri pasand ka ho
Aur saathi jo sang mein rahe
Tamanna sirf khwahish na rahe
sometimes the times you never thought were meant for you just comes and stays with you forever. poeple too. moments too. never thought sitting on the stairs would be the calmest memory of a lifetime to remember. Rains, sun, nights, evenings.
I stared at him from afar as he kept staring his feet slowly bathing in water that touched and went away and came and touched again and then went away just to come back and touch again…
Faded blues and oranges in the sky, a bunch of people enjoying the water and a kid trying to take the sand basket from his dad. Yesterday mumbai beaches for the first felt alive to me
A constant dangling motion of the train kept me awake throughout the 6 hour journey. My eyes could not focus on a single thing throughout. I had downloaded a good amount of films to select one randomly and watch it during the journey, even that wasn’t enough. But i guess the lens was the only thing kept itself stable.
Our eyes locked for a split second before he turned and walked away, giggling.
Perhaps he was having fun, perhaps he didn't want to be photographed, or perhaps my hands, which were halfway up, prepared to record the moment, surprised him. Or perhaps he did it for the sake of it.
