Meditation, Yogic Philosophy, and Science: Monthly Series with Paras (Kenneth) Pugh
Sun, May 17
1:30 PM – 3:00 PM
Suggested Donation to the Ashram: $20
This ongoing series uses different critical Yogic teachings, with a focus on biomedical and neuroscience connections, from Vedantic, Jain and Buddhist perspectives. Each time, the stage will be set with an exploration of different meditation techniques, to create a readiness for Svādhyāya (Self-study) and Bhāvana (contemplation). Group meditation with other seekers creates a very special energy. Our meditation practices and understanding of things are enriched when connected with systematic exploration of ancient and modern ideas on consciousness, brain and learning.
Topics we may want to explore together over time will include:
1. Brain structure, function, chemistry and plasticity
2. Genetics, brain and ideas of karma
3. Embodied cognition, language and intuition
4. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and consciousness
5. Meditation and general mental health
6. Meditation and intelligence (creativity, insight and wisdom)

Clarity Through Creativity with Jan Greenfield
Sun, May 17
2:00 PM – 4:30 PM
Tuition: $125
Register Anandaashram.org/
This workshop is for people who feel stuck or uncertain around career and purpose, money and abundance, or love and relationships, or who are simply craving a creative reset. It’s especially helpful during moments of transition, when something feels like it’s shifting but clarity hasn’t yet landed.
This is not an art or writing class. It’s a guided clarity and decision-making process that uses drawing, image-making, and reflective writing as tools for insight. You’re encouraged to arrive with a question or dilemma you’d like clarity around, while remaining open to what may reveal itself.
No art or writing experience is needed. Only curiosity and a willingness to explore. Participants are welcome to bring a journal and any materials they enjoy working with, though nothing is required.
Participants often describe the process as deeply meaningful, and for some, genuinely transformative.
You’ll leave with:
*A visual reflection of your inner landscape
*A creative clarity tool you can return to again and again
*A stronger sense of direction, confidence, and self-trust
Inspired by the Painting Your Personal Mythology approach, the workshop uses intuitive prompts, visual storytelling, and journaling to bypass the inner critic and access clarity beneath the noise. The focus is not on technique or performance, but on listening, sensing, and translating inner signals into image and language.

Overnight Stay
Immerse yourself in a weekend of transformation and a celebration of Prana! Includes Yogic Practices, Sound Healing, Pranayama, UVYogaDance, Yoga Sutras study and more.
Being “on a spiritual path“ does not negate the honest struggles one faces. How to stay in disciplined practice while being compassionate and caring towards oneself? How to stay focused on spiritual study and at the same time be nourished on all levels? Join Yuval Samburski on an inward journey of healing vibrations, joy, self-expression, soul connection, study, and laughter.
Sthira-sukham asanam (Yoga Sutra 2.46) says: ‘Strong and easy must be your pose.’ Yoga practice must be both disciplined and joyous. We each must find our own unique answer.
This weekend’s focus will be on exploring the balance between play and work, freedom and structure. Then, return home with tools to stay in practice and on the path. All levels are welcome. A strong physical practice and knowledge of the Yoga Sutras or of Pranayama is not necessary to join this program.
Yuval Samburski is a Sound Healer, Yoga instructor, Teacher Trainer and mentor, E-500RYT, YACEP. Lead faculty at Kripalu Center and presenter at Omega Institute, he creates and leads programs, retreats and teacher trainings worldwide.
