Food: Vegan Dominican Chapea stew with Jj’s focaccia from scratch and an n/a ginger Jamaica drink. We may be adding additional dishes. Let me know if you have dietary restrictions.
Music: a mix of salsa, merengue, bachata, dembow, reguetón and house. (I can take requests from other genres too and I’ll have a more chill space for conversation too.)
Please don’t come if you are sick and test before you come. We will have masks available and an air purifier. I have a back porch if you prefer eating outside.

This dance social will be from 6 - 10pm on Saturday, May 31st at the APMA building (3000 W. Lawrence Ave. Chicago)
From 6:15 - 7pm @ananan809 will be teaching an intro bachata class, the rest of the time is social dance time
Cover is sliding scale $10 - $20
Accessibility notes - The venue and bathroom are on the first floor, wheelchair accessible, and (k)n-95 masks are required inside the venue at all times except for when sipping drinks. We will also have HEPA air purifiers running to improve air circulation.

Sat May 24th, I'm teaming up with @gabriellethesinger to bring you a very queer social in a very huge beautiful new space on the southside! Learn a lil bachata and salsa footwork + basics for consent in partner dancing with no assumptions about whos leading or following. No partner necessary.
Doors open at 7:30. Beginner class at 7:45 and then dance till midnight (or whenever we get tired, whichever is later). Suggested donation at the door ($10-20) goes to support Gabrielle to continue to be an amazing artist. We will have some water and non-alcoholic drinks available.

Access notes: Masks are required and we will have some available along with 2 XL HEPA air purifiers. The building has a portable wheelchair ramp, wheelchair accessible bathroom and the hall where we dance is on the 1st floor. We will not have strobe lights and we ask that you help us to make this a scent-free environment.
