Just as climate action cannot wait, education cannot wait. I urge world leaders to act #RightHereRightNow by positioning education at the centre of the global climate agenda. @educannotwait #ClimateAction = #EducationAction

I am glad to have been awarded the International Climate Protection Fellow by Alexander von Humboldt foundation on the Protection of Lake Chad as a Peace and Conflict Resolution Pathway. My incredible host remains @planetarypanel . Lake Chad is the most threatened ecosystem that has been shrinking since the 1960s and has lost 90% of its water. The restoration of this lake is tied towards achieving our sustainable development goals which are remaining 7 years to meet up with the mandate. If we don't recharge Lake Chad, it posts greater threat to my community and I. I am looking forward to building up a groundbreaking research that will influence the actions needed in the restoration process of Lake Chad in this one year fellowship. #ActOnLakeChad

I am thrilled to announce that I have been a fellow at The New Institute, Hamburg Germany since September, 2023. I am excited to work on Black Feminism and the Polycrisis: how we could use the unique insights and intersectional methods of Black feminism to respond to the complexities of the contemporary polycrisis; from the climate crisis to capitalism. A program chaired by @minnasalami_ , a phenomenal woman in whom I am grateful for her incredibly support and to learn from her. It's international women's day 2026: How a Nigerian eco-feminist grew a climate movement https://dialogue.earth/en/climate/how-a-nigerian-ecofeminist-grew-a-climate-movement/ Adenike began her new life as a climate activist with a passion for awakening similar zeal in young people across Nigeria & beyond. Her journey from an undergraduate witnessing the harrowing impacts of climate change in Benue to the founder of the I Lead Climate Action Initiative is a story of resilience, determination, & a fierce commitment to empowering women in the fight against environmental degradation. We've equipped over 10,000 women with the necessary resources - organic fertilisers, indigenous seedlings & tools - to become game-changers, channelling their traditional knowledge towards environmental conservation.

Hunger, violence, and extreme weather are intensifying. Even M16 is now sounding the alarm, and the World Economic Forum warns that climate and environmental crises are becoming the greatest global risk via ZDF Heute. I am glad that the world is beginning to understand not just that multidimensional impacts that the climate crisis poses but also a threat to global security. Honoured to grace this magazine cover ahead of Prayer Day on March 6th & International women's day on March 8th: Right. Justice. Action. For ALL Women & Girls. I was interviewed by two incredible women from Weltgebetstag der Frauen. Read here👇🏾 the work we do at I Lead Climate Action Initiative as an Ecofeminist on the intersectionality between women's rights & climate crisis. According to the report from UN Women, women in sub-saharan Africa spend 40 billion hours in a year in search for water. This is due to droughts that creates water scarcity: so the more the drought, the farther women walk to get water. This is billions of economic hours that has been wasted. If these hours are spent on education, income generating activities, environmental protection, it could have helped to improve women's rights in Sub-saharan Africa. In Africa, climate change is no longer a threat to women's rights but a reality. This is why we do the work we do. Hence, we cannot solve the climate crisis without women and girls.

On the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement, I had a great honour to be invited as one of the panelists for the memorable moments that was a turning point for global climate action signed by 195 countries. The agreement to limit warming below 2°C above pre-industrial levels & ideally 1.5°C; crossing this threshold will alter the main aim of the agreement. If we don't keep to this promise, we are putting our lives, livelihood, communities and humanity in danger. In Africa, climate change is no longer a threat but a reality so for every bit of the warming, the more climate catastrophes. The government at all levels needs to step up more ambition to meet up with our National Determined Contributions (NDC) which has a clear pathway towards emission reduction. More importantly to keep our promises of climate finance which countries from the global south need to transit effectively and to deal with the climate crisis. For the next decade in view, we need greater representation of women and youth. Young people need to be involved as part of these processes and can play an active role in international climate cooperation because becoming leaders of tomorrow starts now. We need to be on the table in the decision making our our tomorrow. Hosted by the French embassy in Berlin, Germany. And organised by Climate Analytics and @helmholtz_klima . On the stage with these incredible panelists; Laurence Turbiana, CEO European climate foundation and Special Envoy to Europe for COP30; Prof Mark Lawrence, scientific director at the Research Institute For Sustainability at GFZ; Jochen Flasbarth, State Secretary @umweltministerium and moderated by Melania Guerra from climate analytics. Second photo frame: from left to right: H.E. Rodrigo De Lima Beans Soares, Ambassador of Brazil to Germany; Oladosu Adenike, founder of I Lead Climate Action Initiative; H.E. François Delattre, Ambassador of France to Germany; Mark Lawrence, Scientific Director at the RIF; Melania Guerra, head of climate science & impacts on climate analytics and H.E. Antonio José Lehmann, Ambassador of the Republic of Costa Rica to Germany.
