We are delighted to announce that Amy Strzoda has been selected as our Emerging Artist in Residence for 2025!
On Bute, Amy hopes to engage with island communities, exploring relationships and connections between people through communal singing and dancing. These forms of expression ignite happiness and nostalgia and generate joy, encouraging participants to celebrate one another.
Everyone will be welcome to participate in Amy’s project, no matter the amount of performance experience they have. The main focus is joy.

We’ve been learning and singing New Order’s Thieves like Us. It’s been totally amazing to sing with a group of people every week and figure it out as we went along

Yesterday I finished writing in this diary (second slide) I’ve had almost 9 years. I had written in it and torn out the pages so many times, and my inability to commit to it for so long made it feel impossible to complete. It’s hanging on for dear life and the cover has now come fully off! The first thing I can remember writing in it is about my friends in Year 10. In this photograph I was writing on the train down to visit Christian in Richmond and I kept taking breaks to sniff my pot of Vicks, I felt so congested and disgusting.
Here also is a small extract that Christian wrote to me in an email in October. My amazing writer and my amazing friend. He’s gonna be famous one day
