The second night of @portlandwinterlightfestival sure was a beauty.
Kicked off with an Aria by Portland Opera
Danced my heart out all night long
Listened to some incredible samba
Even got to roam our own little shadow forest by @skylabarchitecture and @photon.lighting a handful of times
The light festival illuminates on Feb 13-14, 6pm-10pm. And if you come on the 14th, @rivercityriot.brassband will be there playing at 9pm!
First night of @portlandwinterlightfestival kicks off tonight. And I want to give a huge shoutout to my team at @skylabarchitecture and @photon.lighting for making The Shadow Forest come to life. Many plants, pipe, lights and much yardage later, the city gets to experience a colorful mountain! Many hands make “light” work. ✨
If you’re in the city for the next couple of weeks, it’s worth checking out such an incredible festival.
Feb 6-7, and Feb 13-14, 6pm-10pm
For the past several years, a personal joy of mine emerges around December - illustrating for Skyview High School’s Jazz Festival through @amyamesobjects . The why is pretty simple.
The festival is an opportunity for young musicians in the surrounding SW Washington and Portland Metro area to play for their peers, friends, and family. What can be learned through the arts, through the perseverance of honing your craft is hard to quantify. However, the lasting tools and skills I learned, are still used in my professional career today.
The festival - beyond a performance opportunity for these young musicians - also provides an opportunity for band programs to fundraise for important educational tools and activities. If you’re free on the 6th of December - come out to Skyview High School in Vancouver WA to see educators guiding young musicians of today and tomorrow. ✨
If you’ve made it this far, and have the time, feel free to check out the event. If you’re unable to attend but are interested in supporting them through the sale of merchandise - message me and I’ll help get the goods to you! Consider donating to your local public music program, attend their fundraising events, and attend their concerts.
Merch is available on the day of the festival by way of stickers, tumblers, T-shirt’s and hoodies. The hoodie has a nice bass clef emerging out of a storm cloud on the front 💙💨✨
The @svbd_boosters do an amazing job coordinating this event for their students as well as those attending!
Moody blues
The seatbelts
Cowboy Bebop
Trombones are hard to draw
Sometimes it’s a requirement to dance in the rain
Skyview High School’s 2025 Jazz Festival ready for the world
Little red wine stains. Dragons, ice cream and monsters. Big eyes and big mustaches - on who? You’ll never know.

Little bits of swirls testing time. Testing patience and testing the sunshine.

Combined colors that kind of make your eyes hurt. Messing around with scales with this one ✨

“A fence and some geese pt 2”
Little geese who tell their stories about the way things were. The fence is behind them; off to explore new things and to give unease to new people. Plans to be foiled, four of them to be exact.
Keep your peepers peeled for new releases to #spoonflower

“A fence and some geese”
A landscape of white picket fences, and just beyond that, a bundle of geese. I don’t know what you call a gaggle/murder/group of geese, but a bundle will do. The geese are getting restless. They are preparing. Slowing easing posts out of the soil because while they may be tired, they are restless and ready to do what geese do. The people stare. They point. They don’t know.
Blue skies ahead is their siren song.

“My Victorian Aunt and the Atomic Age”
Found on the moody walls of a Coney Island Victorian foyer. Smells of salt water candy, pine and linseed oil welcome you through an open door. This is the home of an atomic traveler, a little out of their time-but still trying to blend in.
Available on #spoonflower ! If you’re having issues finding them, search #amyamesobjects
