In 2017, a doctor wrongly reused a needle on me after multiple failed attempts to find a vein. That decision led to a serious infection, multiple surgeries, nerve damage, and eventually CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome).
I’m thankfully in a much better place now, both physically and mentally, but I still live with pain every single day. Recently I’ve definitely overdone it and with the cold weather my wrist has been flaring badly again. So before it gets worse, it’s time for the paraffin wax bath because heat honestly helps so much.
The chances of an infection as severe as mine are low, but there is still a risk, which is exactly why needles are single use.
Still learning that resting before my body forces me to is a form of self care 🫠

Two years ago, flying with BA & Heathrow left me genuinely traumatised. The entire experience made travelling feel terrifying.
So when I found out I’d be flying British Airways again for the YouTube Creator Summit in California… I was honestly scared.
But this trip completely surprised me in the best way…
There were still hospital visits, catheter chaos, stress and a LOT of anxiety before the flight 😭 but somehow we made it.
BA even stored my wheelchair in an onboard locker (I felt so much less anxious, knowing that my ‘legs’ were definitely going to make it safely to our destination!). Our experience at Heathrow couldn’t have gone more smoothly either! Thank you @british_airways and @heathrow_airport for a MUCH better experience!

Those Met Gala steps? For so many disabled people, they’re not just iconic… they’re a symbol of inaccessibility.
In thinking about the Met Gala, that staircase has long represented a space we weren’t fully included in.
So seeing @aarianaphilip there this year, as a wheelchair user also, felt powerful. It’s not just about fashion, it’s about visibility and who gets to be seen in these spaces.
Representation matters. And while there’s still a long way to go when it comes to true accessibility, moments like this do shift something.
It also meant so much to see other disabled trailblazers like @thesineadburke and @laurenwasser in attendance too.
At the same time, the ableist and transphobic comments Aariana has faced are a reminder of why this visibility is still so needed.
Marginalised groups deserve to take up space… especially in places that weren’t built with us in mind!

Was I supposed to tip the driver?? I’m a wheelchair user… can I ride in a @waymo ? Come try out a driverless taxi with me for the first time… will my wheelchair fit in the boot? (or as they call it in LA: the trunk?)
I’m not gonna lie… it was slightly terrifying to put all my trust into this technology but it did get us to our destination. Did get a little concerned that it was going to turn into the iRobot type movie when it turned down a back alley 🤣😅
It was also a LOT cheaper than the ‘normal’ taxi I had got a day prior (almost a third of the price 😱).
Apparently these are coming to London??? I’d be interested to see how they cope with roundabouts 👀😭
