When I became a mother, I not only was comforting a new human being on this earth, a precious new baby, but also the little girl inside me. Relearning childhood all over again, creating memories for someone else on this earth is a big deal. Motherhood is a beautiful death to old self, and a beautiful rebirth to the woman you were always meant to be. I am a friend. Iโm from Whittier where the girls are prettier, so I expect the hate from the uglies. But letโs address the class, because anyone can be a lame and post screenshots on their stories about someone they donโt know. The haters attacking my name, business and brand LOVE to talk all about the Westside as if theyโre some defenders of it. I get it. Itโs the local trend to want to claim the westside and its culture even though they arenโt from that side of town. I, on the other hand, have never felt the need to play pretend like that. My roots run deep in that community. Having first worked for San Antonio Youth: Youth Build being a mentor for teens who were taught construction trades. Youth for Christ off Guadalupe, providing dance programs, outreaches, food, clothes and after school programs for kids in the courts and neighborhoods around. Selina Center, teaching dance therapy and mentorship to addict teen and teen moms going through the court process. All together, a good decade dedicated to serving the Westside of San Antonio. All for non-profit organizations. All for the better of our community. I wasnโt going around looking for photo-ops or looking for some validation while wearing a costume. For these same losers to try and bully me is so weird. For being the ones always talking so much about the โcommunidadโ they sure like to hate on people that are coming up in the same community just bringing opportunities for other small businesses. I donโt need to wear the Westside as a badge. I speak about being a free thinker, focusing on your OWN and not following the sheep of the Yes Man. Boxing in a whole community to think like you is against everything we should stand for. Iโve rubbed shoulders with a lot of people who arenโt like me. And respected the hustle of those trying to just make it. You donโt need to be like me, and I donโt need to be like you. To deliberately slander my character to validate your agenda says everything I need to know about you and your own. I know who to associate with and you confirmed why I donโt with you. Itโs never too late to parent the little niรฑa in youโฆ.its never too late to realize youโre the one thatโs changing the lineage of safety and peace in your home. Especially with your children. YOU. Youโre the one in the seat now. Forgive those who hurt you, forgive and let go. Hold on to nothing but what you started with. Yourself. You can have a say on what you tolerate in protecting your family. No guilt, no shame; just playing the role of a PARENT. Something alot of us didnโt see growing up. So be it now. See it now. Be what you never had, NOW. Your kids will remember it the way we remembered it. So who will they know you as?

I think when you can come to terms with who you were always designed to be; the self doubt becomes something of the past. You still feel it, you still see it but it no longer becomes a guest at the table. Its voice becomes smaller and the true identity from heaven has room to take precedent. Stay focused, protect your heart and beyond it all, let God guide you.
