With The Dear Hunter being one of my favourite bands, and his was always gonna be a big one for me, however the band have really outdone themselves here. It's a short record for them, but it's packed with catchy vocal hooks and impressive (funky) instrumental performances all drenched in a gorgeous synthy atmosphere. Every track has a standout moment to me, a very strong AOTY contender!
On top of all that the production is fantastic and the record looks amazing!

Silver/black/white merge (Fallen Angel)
After 'Blood Moon' Converge didn't want to do anything similar, I'd think they definitely achieved that! Aside from the gloomy interlude (Beyond Repair), this album is 30 minutes of aggressive metal. I've heard a few people say this is a great work out album and I can see why, this record is non-stop!

Gavran - The One Who Propels - 2026
Sandy tan to black fade + Sandy tan & black double vortex - limited to 200
As soon as I heard the first track (Okreni) I knew I was going to like this album. The obvious comparison for this band would be Amenra, but I also hear elements of Isis, Garganjua and even Yob. With gorgeous post-rock like crescendos, grooving doom-laden passages and crushing riffs coupled with intense screeching vocals reminiscent of The Body. This post metal record is a fantastic start to the year.
Unfortunately, the bonus track on the D side on my copy is basically unplayable and skips through the track.
