Introducing our “OPEN STUDIOS” programming! We tried really hard to come up with the perfect title to encapsulate our big dreams for this programming, but after months of trying we decided to keep the placeholder name and co-create the title in community with y’all! Please come and help us name this space~ ✨ [sparkles] This post contains all of the logistical information needed to understand what this space is, why we created it, who the space is for, what we offer, what you can do at “OPEN STUDIOS,” and basic accessibility information for our community space. You can see the link in our bio for extended accessibility info. ✨ [sparkles] “OPEN STUDIOS” is an experimental oasis for liberating the ways we explore creativity together! ✨ [sparkles] We will host this open space twice a month on second Thursdays and fourth Fridays–it is open & drop-in style unless you have additional access needs. "Return" is a BIPOC-centered writing workshop that invites reflection on grief and what it means to return. Through guided prompts, we will explore the enduring ways we carry what we've lost. Presented by APANO's Cultural Work team Envy Estacio and Jenny Lunte, in collaboration with @jamae.io Masks required & food provided. Together, we will move through stations to explore how identity and grief are intertwined. Each station will have prompts that include themes of identity & grief. At the end, participants will have the option to contribute their art created during the workshop to a collaborative zine. Food will be provided at the end.
