Back in April 2025, I asked Ryan Coogler about a pivotal Delroy Lindo scene in #Sinners and his approach to Black trauma for the @fadetoblackpodcast . His answer was typically brilliant. Manifesting all of the wins for #Sinners on Oscars night. It would be fully deserved!

It was an honour and a joy to introduce the live performance of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse at the @eventimapollo . I am still buzzing! Congrats to Daniel Pemberton, conductor @david_mahoney , the amazing @djblakeyuk , and the incredible musicians for putting on an awesome show. Let’s do it all again soon! #Spiderverselive #Spiderverse

Had a #Normal Q&Amon earlier this week talking moustaches, moose’s, and more with Bob Odenkirk, Ben Wheatley, and Billy MacLellan. The film is out in UK cinemas right now and it’s a fun time at the movies. Go see! (Thanks to everyone who snapped pics and took videos! I've cobbled together some of them for this post). #NormalMovie #BobOdenkirk #BillyMacLellan #BenWheatley @skytv @vertigoreleasing

A thing that happened a few days ago… Me, onstage at the @riocinema with RZA over the Wu-Tang Clan, doing an intro & Q&A for The Mystery Of Chessboxing, with an electric crowd in attendance bringing da ruckus. Enjoyed this one! Thanks to all the good folk at Rio Cinema for making this happen. 📸: @jamesreevesmedia / @dalai_thapa 🎥: @akuatbbgyamfi #TheMysteryOfChessboxing

Ludwig Göransson took a break from winning Oscars and working on small independent movie The Odyssey so we could have a chat about his scores for The Mandalorian (for which he is surely in the running for any most memorable new theme of the last decade award). What a mensch. Read it in the latest issue of Empire. #TheMandalorianAndGrogu #LudwigGoransson #Sinners #TheOdyssey

So my friend @amonwarmann was asked by ITV to comment on how the BBC censored Akinola Davies Jr. ITV then also censored Amon for having a Palestine badge… Make it make sense?! Sorry brother.

Another year, another #BAFTA’s, and a good time was had! Mostly. Re the John Davidson incident… The phrase I keep coming back to is lack of care. Not properly and throughly forewarning audiences (both those in the room and ones at home) about Tourette’s and what it could lead to? Lack of care. Not publicly and directly apologising to Delroy Lindo and Michael B. Jordan in the immediate aftermath of the incident or even post-BAFTAs? Lack of care. EDIT: BAFTA finally issued an apology 20 hours after the incident. Choosing not to bleep out the slur on the broadcast (while conveniently editing out “Free Palestine” from Akinola Davies Jr.’s brilliant speech), thereby making it a clip that will be part of the digital record forever? Lack of care (and common sense). John Davidson should be able to attend more public events. But there absolutely have to be strong safeguards in place to protect people like Davidson as well as others. And BAFTA and BBC dropped the ball here. Because the price of his comfort should never be the embarrassment and dehumanising of Black people. Do better! And shoutout to Delroy Lindo and Michael B. Jordan for handling an extremely tough moment incredibly well.
