AMONG EQUALS X SARAH-JANE CLARKE • Meet the Wewak weavers — across an ocean, and via video calls, the Among Equals X @sarahjane_clarke collaboration came to life in partnership with the Wewak artisans of Papua New Guinea’s Sepik River, led by longtime collaborator and cultural advisor, Lina Singu, and her son Edward. Lina regularly travels the river in a motored canoe, connecting us with weavers living in remote regions. Through Bilum, she was able to send Edward to university; after graduating he felt a deep call to return home and continue her work together with his wife, Tanila. The result is a handwoven line of 60 editions, dreamed up together with Sarah-Jane, in shades of rich plum and forest green, and themed around a traditional circular Bilum shape. The Mamari bags feature a natural sisal base with grass flower adornments and freshwater pearls. What’s most exciting is that through this collaboration, our mission continues to grow. Sarah-Jane will donate proceeds from the Mamari Bilum bags to help build a new Blue Haus community centre in Wewak, supporting the next chapter of independence for the women and their families ✨ You can shop the collection via our link in bio #AMONGequals

ART AS FASHION • Happy Australian Fashion Week 2026! The event kickstarts today in Sydney, with the Museum of Contemporary Art (@mca_australia ) serving as the new central hub — it couldn’t be a more chic destination, and we are so honoured to feature in their windows Mark Small, Head of Commercial Development, says: “As part of Australian Fashion Week, the MCA Store is partnering with Among Equals to present a curated range of handcrafted Bilum and fibre accessories by women artisans in Papua New Guinea. The collection sits at the intersection of contemporary design, fashion and cultural knowledge, with an emphasis on material practice and making. A considered addition to the MCA Store.” We are so proud! Drop by the MCA store to see the full collection ✨ #AMONGequals

OMBRÉ • The Ombré Raun collection has arrived, and each piece is the most beautiful example of the weaver’s clever colour play. These handcrafted crossbody bags are made by the Wewak artisan collective – the weavers work with natural fibres which have been tinged and dip-dyed to create varying shades in ombré effects. We love them styled with the new handwoven scrunchies, colour on colour ✨ #AMONGequals

OMBRÉ • Introducing the new Ombré Raun collection, a special series handcrafted by the Wewak weavers. This artisan collective is based on Papua New Guinea’s Sepik River, led by longtime collaborator and cultural advisor, Lina Singu, and her son Edward and his wife Tanila – a cross-generational initiative. These beautifully crafted pieces are made from natural fibres which have been tinged and dip-dyed to create varying shades in beautiful colour-graduation effects.
