Even people who know me well second-guessed what they were seeing.
That’s how powerful this shift is.
And here’s the part that really made me pause…
That post reached more people than me sharing actual knowledge and experience.
So what are we really responding to?
I love the technology.
But it requires a new level of awareness.

Alongside many of my comrades, I’ve spent well over a decade in arts education, reinvesting ourselves into the creative community. This work means a lot to us.
I think this was 2018 with J Hatch 🕊️, Ciz, Kato, Kori Anders, and more. Watching this back now, I’m genuinely blown away by how far so many of the producers in this video have come. It’s a reminder of what consistency, time, and community can really do.

Proud of these young men. @s.y.g_band had an outdoor performance today right on the Atlanta Beltline. Like… WHAT!?!? Extra proud of my son Dilla who not only plays traditional percussion in Yoruba ceremonies as an Ifa Priest, he plays all kinds of roles in his high school marching band, and plays a full drum kit as a composer and performer in a rock band. There’s nothing like live music and directly connecting with other humans. It takes courage and a lot of practice. Their new album is out. Go enjoy it!
