Had to update my portfolio today ๐ฅน
And it made me pause for a second.
Because if you told 15-year-old me that one day Iโd be putting together an acting portfolioโฆ she wouldโve laughed.
Back then the stage was just a mirror in my room, and the only audience was myself. Somewhere along the way, that girl who used to act out scenes alone actually got the chance to do it for real๐
It started because @vimalrajnair7 sir saw something in me. Then @thomas_lifestories believed in me enough to push me forward. And @ajmal_shaji_ trusted me with a role in his short film.( first opportunity is always special ๐๐ป)
Was it luck?
Maybe.
Right people at the right time?
Definitely.
And after that, there were always a few people around me who kept nudging me towards roles they believed I could pull off.
I remember once getting a DM saying,
"All you do are the same types of roles."
And my first thought wasโฆ
Have I even done enough short films to be typecast already? ๐
But maybe I just played those soft, meet-cute characters a little too wellโฆ
because every time a role like that came up, people thought of me.
The roles where I went for something more extreme or different?
Most of them havenโt released yet.
But maybe thatโs okay.
Good things take time.
For now, Iโm just grateful that Iโve gotten to feel the thrill of acting again and again.
And the girl who once acted only in front of a mirrorโฆ
sheโs still here.
Just with a camera in front of her now.
