Attention to Detail
A text for performance by Amirali Ghasemi
“Attention to details” is a text for performance written by Amirali Ghasemi on a flight from Paris to Berlin in May 2023.
Attention to details calls the body and the language in the presence of pain, illness, mixed with obsessive remembrance and involuntary amnesia. Amirali started to write poetry in high school years and has published 3 volumes of his works, all in unconventional formats. His new book, “Oversharing the code,” will be published soon in Berlin in Persian with selected English translations.
Amirali had performed this text in a two-part lecture performance/spoken word In Berlin in Summer of 2025. The performance took place at Villa Kuriosum, in a circus tent, presented in English and Persian with corresponding subtitles and visuals. A QR code will grant you access to watch the video documentation on YouTube.
The publication is dedicated to the same text and available in limited edition of 45.

The fourth and final part of Underwater Eruptions, titled Houses on Water, touches upon the subject of displacement. Following the past few months of tension and war, we look back at interruptions and disconnections recorded through lenses and audio recorders, acknowledging their limits in capturing fleeting moments and feelings while searching for a place to call home. It explores the duality between the realities of our current locations and the places where our roots lie. These poetic yet often direct approaches leave marks on memory, highlighting the fragility of the collectible amid what is felt and lived.

From Brussels to Tehran, on foot is going to take 46 days and 4 hours, including passing Ukraine to Russia and then maybe Georgia , a ferry from Baku to Gilan province!
Maps are incredible and blind at the same time of realities we live in...
Screen shot send by a friend in Berlin to me, and made me wonder... Why is this an impossible trip... In 2026, which passport can/will ease/save/endanger the passenger or may be no passport at all...
Could it be a weird bird's migrating route?

Discover three groundbreaking works of Naser Taghvai, Khosrow Sinai, and Manouchehr Tayyab, pioneers of 1960s Iranian experimental cinema. Their films, made before the 1979 Revolution, blend striking visuals, bold editing, and hypnotic music to reflect a society in transformation.
1: Ars Poetica, Khosrow Sinai (1967)
2: The Rhythm, Manouchehr Tayyab (1964)
3: Arbaeen, Nasser Taghvai (1970)
These films are more than experiments, they are echoes against forgetting and acts of remembrance in a time of ongoing struggle.

‘Some Concepts on Freedom’ is part of a larger series that employs an anti-archival approach to explore the concept through various media. Developed both before in Iran & during my residency at Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin, these works focus on the subject of Iran. The series posits that freedom is achievable only within our perception, ultimately arguing that its inherent relativity across space & time makes it deceptive & unattainable.
SIN SEENI /sīn-sīnī/ سین سینی, an Iranian multidisciplinary artist living and working in Berlin. His work is often layered, combining various forms of media. Language plays a crucial role in his art, functioning as a means to communicate conceptual ideas and to engage with the Language and Art movement through contemporary media and tools. Some of the language-focused aspects of his works give them a literary and linguistic quality, which transforms their function by distorting signs.

Underwater eruptions / فوران زیر آب
There are earthquakes, and then there are aftershocks; the ambiguity and suspense between them blur the notion and obscure the senses. Often, the shakes are from deep within and not clearly visible, and it is the ripple effect it creates that shapes our world today.
“Aftershocks”, The first gathering revolves around three artist positions proposed by Siavash Naghshbandi (IR/NL), Tarlan Lotfizadeh (IR/UK) & Mahoor Mirshakkak (IR): The Aftershocks reflects on how visible/sensible the damages arising from war and tyranny are. While the differences and the proximity differ in each case, all three pieces were created in 2025 after the so-called 12-day war in June.
In the year 2026, awakening and in the evermore critical time, as the shadow of another confrontation lingers around and above, Underwater Eruptions offer only a limited insight and hopes to create a space of debate.
