my mischievous, curious boy with the cutest personality, you brought so much energy into our lives. you acted like a dog half the time, always running up to us, nudging for head rubs, kissing me for your treats, following me to the toilet every morning to remind me it was breakfast time. you would get angry and give us those stares whenever we brought you for grooming or to the vet. then you would flop down and lie right next to us like you belonged in every moment, sitting with us to watch tv like you paid the bills here.
you were still giving me kisses yesterday. i didn’t know it would be the last. even in those final moments, you came to me, nudging me for head rubs.
everything feels so sudden and so quiet now.
