Wednesday night was a dream that I got to share with my extraordinary parents, brilliant team @macmillanusa , wonderful editor Liz Szabla, the astonishing @jeanfeiwel (I canāt find any photos of us together) & so many awe-inspiring authors. I was having so much fun I barely took any pictures & had to spend the last few days collecting them.
Grateful for the judges for Young Peopleās Literature & all the finalist! & congrats to @danielnayeri & his brilliant book. Thanks for @nationalbookfoundation for this wonderful celebration of books.

Today I found out that THE LEAVING ROOM was not only included on the 2026 Rainbow Book List it was listed as one of The Top 10 LGBTQIA+ books for young adults this year. Incandescently happy to be included & to show pansexual & bisexual Black girls on the page. Representation is so important & I am so grateful that Gospel & Melodee have resonated with so many people. š¤
