I love sandwiches. If I had to open a food place it would be sandwiches. Shoutout AJ’s deli in Apache Junction going hard with fresh sliced meats and cheeses, crisp veggies, and fresh baked bread. Talk to to me later- if you’re seeing this, I’m eating/I ate this, and I’m napping.
Why does Arizona suck so much for van camping not off grid? Even the @kampgroundsofamerica won’t let us stay for more than two weeks and we are members. It must be regional that our @vandoitco van is apparently not good enough for RV resorts here because we don’t have a sewage line??? Even with grey tanks and dump stations? Anyone in the area know a place we can go for a couple months near Phoenix that will accept us? We are quiet and have MiB!
December 4 2013 I got hauled up to Waterloo Iowa to start inpatient substance abuse treatment. Learned a lot, built some skills, and committed to not drinking alcohol. December 4 2025 still no alcohol. Im lucky I have great friends, family, and support. There is no doubt I’m a better version of me without booze. Take care of yourself, be addicted to (mostly) healthy things… like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Well I’ll be. Back working in a shop in Iowa (for a week) and couldn’t think of a shop I appreciate, and want to be a part of more than @goldfinchcyclery in Cedar Rapids. Friends in the IC/CR area- come see me at a shop again, let me service your bike, let me sell you something, or just come in and chat. Ten years ago today I had taken my last sip of alcohol. A lot of people in my life now never knew me when I drank, and I like it that way. I was pretty rough before it was over. It ended when I did 17 days at inpatient treatment. I was lucky that my parents and friends supported me when I accepted the problem they had all been dealing with. Not everyone has a great support system, so if you ever hear someone talking about struggling with alcohol, or any substance, maybe listen. There is no shame is cleaning up, it one of my greatest accomplishments in life, and I’m proud as hell to celebrate my 10 year soberversary! Here’s to tomorrow, one day at a time.

What is this??? I’m back baby. Thanks @bike.stop for housing me for the next three months. Still doing food, but you can’t take the boy out of a bike shop for long. Glad to feel like after a 2.5 year hiatus the repair stand is still familiar. Even knocked out a Murray today!
