An event that celebrates women’s diverse lives and stories. An inclusive festival with wellbeing at its core, invites women from Calderdale and beyond to visit, take part and feel included. A day to explore, celebrate and be together.
There will be guest speakers such as Alison Lowe, West Yorkshire’s Deputy Mayor, confidence workshops by @ambienttribe and ‘Beyond Balance’ workshops by @the_headspace_bureau .
The day includes art exhibitions, performances and more!

Sat on the runway this summer, waiting for take-off. The air crew are standing by ready to deliver the inevitable safety briefing. They look bored. We feel bored. We’ve all been here before. I know it already…my belt is strapped, I know to brace and I’m frantically trying to keep my 3 year old from singing loud nursery rhymes.
And then the briefing starts…
Now.
This steward knows how to rock the mic.
Amazingly, the energy on the plane shifts.
Rather than passively listening, his voice grabs our attention. It’s clear, assertive, direct.
In all my years of traveling, I’ve never seen this happen. Magazines are lowered, people stop talking, heads are lifted from phones.
We listen.
Even my three year old listens!
For just a minute, we connect with the enormity of sticking humans in the air and the fact we should probably bother to learn what we need to do in an emergency.
This is the power of someone using their voice so it makes an IMPACT.

I recently went on a Retreat (the kind where you literally retreat from the world and give yourself time and space to breathe).
In all the things I thought I'd 'get' from the retreat, I totally underestimated the importance of space to think.
To actually let thoughts pop up naturally, rather than being constantly in 'thinking mode'. It was powerful stuff.
We rush around all day, busy busy busy.
But stopping for a few days has given me more clarity and motivation than I could ever imagine.
And the views not bad either! 😉

What an incredible buzz last Thursday with Huddersfield Business School.
A room full to bursting with inspirational talent as passionate business owners, leaders, and entrepreneurs came together to share their experiences.
I was delighted to be the keynote speaker at the event, hosting a workshop on how to use your values to underpin your business culture with strong foundations.
Without a doubt, the best bit of these events is the ‘ah ha’ moments. Those moments when you can see some understanding or realisation just clicking into place for an audience member. With such a dynamic and generous group, there were lots of ‘ah ha’ moments and I can’t wait to follow their progress in the future!

One of my delegates recently did a talk on how we build skills when practicing our hobbies, as much as we do when we're working.
It was a timely reminder, as last week I was privileged to tread the theatrical boards for the first time in a long time in the musical 'Company'.
My love of communication is rooted in my performance background. Being back on stage has given me the chance to develop my own skills, to hone my body language, presence, and vocal dexterity.
Also, it is so impressive to watch a team of people pull together to get a show ready...from the performers to the tech crew, the set builders, the costume team, and the band - it's the ultimate team effort.
I'm feeling all buzzy and inspired!
Loved chatting to the Leaders Council podcast on leadership Comms- that moment when a company starts to scale and the leader has to start talking to their people on mass! Often a tricky time!
