This particular poster is dedicated to reminding me to stay in the moment, to quiet my mind, and to focus on the things I’m doing right now instead of letting my thoughts drift into the past or the future. Finding that balance, whether I’m working, running, at a party, or enjoying time with the people I care about, is about being fully present and not, letting my mind wander. “Why Do You Exist?” is an experimental fanzine I created to explore the meaning of existence. With this project, I wanted to challenge readers to embrace uncertainty and question the motivations behind our actions in a society that constantly pushes us to produce and consume. Working on this over the summer was deeply meaningful to me, as it gave me the time and space to reflect on what it means to be happy and to understand what truly matters in my life. QUE LLEGA LA SERPIENTE! 🐍 Poster designed during the experimental graphic workshop with @leonromero.work ✨ We were given three random concepts, mine were Calendars, Indigenous Cultures and Euphoria. My inspiration was the Maya pyramid of Kukulkán at Chichén Itzá, which is literally a calendar. During the equinox, the shadows on the pyramid create the shape of a serpent 🐍🐍🐍 and people gather to watch it appear. For my final course project, we had to choose an event to promote, so I selected Mutek, a festival of digital creativity in sound, music, and audio-visual art held in different countries. For this project, I decided to create a fictional edition in Bogotá, my birth city. The ‘MU’ in MUTEK intentionally refers to the concept of ‘mutation.’ I wanted to focus on the concept of mutation and showcase the essence of Bogotá. The idea was to reveal the two faces of Bogotá. At first glance, it may seem like a hostile, abrupt, gray city, and indeed, it is. But as you delve deeper, you discover that it is a vibrant and welcoming city.
