We are new cat parents!!! Introducing our little rescues, Pearl (the grey lynx point girl) and Melo (the orange flame point boy). Short for Pearl Grey and Pomelo. Pearl is the cutest, cuddliest attention seeker whose eyes grow as big as moons at the tiniest noise, and Melo is a hilarious, goofy tree-climber who boasts the biggest, pinkest toe beans. She is a secret apex predator, *slaughtering* anything shiny that dares to move in her line of sight, while he is an impressively acrobatic boy who does backflips for feather wand toys (but wouldn’t hurt an actual fly). Ahhhh @netflix has announced the release of my film STEPS in 2026! This has been a labor of such love for the past 5 1/2 (!) years. The character Lilith means so much to me, as does the story’s message, the world we’ve painstakingly crafted, and most of all, our incomparable crew. My heart aches for the recent acts of violence that have shown a glaring light on hate toward Asians, in particular Asian women, in this country. It stirs memories of countless acts of implicit and explicit hate I and many loved ones have endured since childhood, but have kept quiet about. I am learning not to stay quiet. Especially not now.
