#domesticviolence
Just because it’s not talked about doesn’t mean that we don’t know what is happening. Warning signs in domestic violence are subtle and overtime they become obvious.

Sports are so relatable to personal safety. Awareness, instincts, decision making and predicting behavior play a big part.

#travel
Heading out this summer? Before you post that boarding pass selfie- that little confirmation code can give strangers access to your ENTIRE booking. 😳
Names, travel dates, sometimes passport info, even the ability to cancel cancel your flight. 🚨
Don’t post it. Don’t share it. Treat that boarding pass, like cash 💰

With different cars, the gadgets and buttons vary in location. Familiarize yourself with the vehicle 🚗 before you hit the road.
Be familiar where the lock button is located. If you wait until it’s dark and you enter the vehicle quickly, it’s not as easy to find as you think.

Everyone should always have a plan of action. If you don’t carry a form of protection knowing key strikes and where to strike can save your life. Using your voice, knowing to scream if your life is threatened can save your life too. #staysafe #bevigilant #alwaysbev

#safety
Out of all the people that could help him, he chose me. Sitting alone away from the crowd. He approached quickly, and tried to engage me in conversation. I immediately stood up and created distance.
When he stood to approach me a second time, I again moved away, staying ready and never taking my eyes off of him.
When he said to me “don’t be afraid,” that was the turning point. I filled with fire 🔥 and wanted to unload on him. Instead, I used my words and my body language to get him to leave. The conversation had a few more details but this is the bulk of it.
When people need help, they approach slowly and certainly don’t invade your personal space. And anybody that says “I won’t hurt you,” don’t be afraid, is one of the biggest red flags out there. #staysafe #bevigilant
#denimday
In 1998, the Italian Supreme Court rape case (1998) overturned a rape conviction. The court argued that because the victim was wearing tight jeans, she must have helped remove them—implying consent. This reasoning caused outrage around the world.
In response, women in the Italian Parliament wore jeans to work in protest, sending a clear message: clothing never equals consent.
That protest inspired what became Denim Day, now organized annually by Peace Over Violence as part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. People wear denim to: • Stand with survivors • Challenge victim-blaming myths • Raise awareness about sexual violence
The core message is simple and still relevant: what someone wears is never an invitation or justification for assault.
#elevator
Why would a cat ride an elevator with a dog? It might make for a nice ride, the dog seems friendly, but what if?
If you get a bad feeling about somebody, abort the ride. Take the next one.
Always position yourself near the numbers, that’s where the help button is located. Stand with your back to the wall for the best awareness. Avoid standing in the middle and being pushed to the back.
Remember, an elevator is a sound proof chamber.

#intuition
Nobody knows how you feel better than you. It doesn’t take evidence, it requires trusting the feeling your body is signaling you with. #staysafe
#sexualassault
Education on sexual assault prevention begins with people understanding consent and the which acts define a sexual assault.
If this is happening in high school imagine the statistics in college and beyond. Bring awareness to both men and women. Visit the link in our bio to find out how to bring this educational training to your community.
