Allyson Felix revealed on Monday that she will come out of retirement, restart her track career and turn her attention to making Team USA's roster for the 2028 Olympics in her hometown Los Angeles.
“You know, at this age, I should probably be staying home and taking care of my kids, doing all that," Felix said in an interview with Time published on Monday. "And just, why not? Let's flip it on its head. Let's go after the thing. Let's be vulnerable.”
Widely regarded as the most decorated track and field athlete in history, Felix announced her retirement in April 2022 and ended her career at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon later that year.
