𝟐𝟖 𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝟏𝟔 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝟗 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐭! 🚁 On the 16th April join us in the @menoparkasgalerija for the second edition of visual art showcase “Echoes: Joy”. The showcase invites us to step away from the usual, superficial understanding of joy. Here, joy reveals itself not only as a bright emotion, but as a complex, multilayered experience—sometimes fragile, sometimes barely noticeable, emerging from memory, the details of everyday life, or even from contrasts with loss and transience. “Artists from different cultural and social contexts perceive joy in different ways: in some works, it is associated with inner peace and reflection; in others, with active creative energy, the people around us, or even irony. Thus, in the showcase, joy becomes an open theme that allows different artists, above all, to speak about the human relationship with oneself, with others, and with the world around us,” says Arnis Aleinikovas, curator of the audiovisual program and coordinator of the showcase. Participating artists: Roos van Geffen (NL), Crystalle Bobbe (DE), Laura Hyunjhee Kim & Chris Corrente (USA), Manuel De Marco (IT), Ziyao Lin (UK), Muriel Montini (FR), AnimaeNoctis (RS), Antoni Hidalgo (Inercies) (SP), Michael Maurisens (DE), Vardit Goldner, Anna Solecka (PL), BEAUDOIN (EE), Topp & Dubio (NL), Lou Liska (AU), Ana Da Cunha Alves (PT), Salvatore Insana (IT), blanche the vidiot (HU), Jose Cruzio (PT), Ivana Larrosa (USA), Viktorija Lankauskaitė (LT), Izabella Retkowska (PL), Nuanqi-Chen (CH), Agnė Šileikytė (LT), Kamilė Šimkevičiūtė (LT), Karolina ŠČ (LT), Akvilė Ataitė (LT), Ieva Drukteinytė (LT), Giedrė Mačiulaitytė (LT). The event is free of charge. The event will be filmed and/or photographed. Organizer: NGO “Alternatyvi Scena” (ALTR) Partner: Meno Parkas Gallery, Fondation François Schneider. After announcing all the video artists participating in the showcase, we now present the performers—emerging creators from across the country—who will appear in the performance program on April 16 at Meno Parkas Gallery. Karolina ŠČ is an artist working in the field of conceptual and interdisciplinary art. She allows creativity to flow through her in various forms – illustration, poetry, performance, and installation. In her graphic works, she analyzes her subconscious, exploring a self-created utopian world shaped by personal dreams, interests, and inspiration from the surrounding environment, most often nature. She is interested in fantasy, surrealism, and holism – often identifying herself as a fairy. In her performances and installations, she creates an experience closer to reality – interactive and intimate, allowing the viewer to engage and relate. Self-reflection and maturity are important to her, so in her works she reflects on the stages of her personal life, highlighting specific turning points. Ieva Drukteinytė is a graphic designer currently completing her bachelor’s degree at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, Kaunas Faculty. She is the founder of the cultural magazine and platform for emerging artists “ate ate”. She is also an educator, leading creative workshops in which she uses art as a means of self-expression and dialogue while working with young people. In her performances, inspired by the ideas of C. G. Jung, she examines the relationship between the self and the other. The artist believes that we can see ourselves most clearly through another person – as if in a mirror. In her creative practice, the relationship between psychological content and aesthetic form is important, allowing the experience to be lived not only emotionally, but also visually. The free one-day visual art showcase “Echoes: Joy” will take place on April 16 at the “Meno Parkas Gallery” in Kaunas. Organizer: NGO “Alternatyvi Scena” (ALTR) Partner: Meno Parkas Gallery The showcase is partially funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture and the Lithuanian Artists’ Association.
