Part 1/3: What is UGA? UGA stands for Unità Geografiche Aggiuntive — a way to define and highlight the unique origin of wines within Alto Adige 🍇 It’s all about going deeper into terroir: smaller areas, clearer identities, and an even stronger connection between the wine, its landscape, and the people behind it. Stay tuned for Part 2 👀

Part 2/3: What makes UGA special? It’s the combination that makes the difference 🍇 UGA links each geographical unit with specific grape varieties — ensuring that every variety is grown exactly where it thrives best. The result? Wines that express their origin with even greater precision and character. To keep this identity clear and focused, each UGA is limited to a maximum of five grape varieties. Stay tuned for Part 3 👀

Part 3/3: How to recognize a UGA wine Origin, clearly on the label 🍷 Every wine from a geographical unit is marked with the UGA symbol “Alto Adige.” The geotag — a stylized grape combined with the UGA name — reveals the wine’s origin at a glance. This designation is only used when strict criteria are met: the grapes must come exclusively from that specific geographical unit and belong to the grape varieties defined for that area. A guarantee of origin, precision, and authenticity.

We asked Daniela one simple question: “What American food would you pair with an Alto Adige wine?” Her answer? 🌮 Al pastor tacos with a chilled glass of Schiava. From Austin, Texas to Alto Adige… some pairings just make sense. 🍷✨ #altoadigewines #südtirolwein #vinialtoadige

Alto Adige will ruin you for other wine regions. I said what I said. 🤪 Dolomite peaks, absurd altitude, vines clinging to slopes that have no business producing anything - and yet. some of the most precise, electric wines in Europe come out of here. if crunchy, high-acid reds are your thing (and they should be), this place needs to be on your list. #südtirolwein

On this Labour Day, we checked in with some of our experts to see what’s happening in the vineyards and cellars right now 🍇 Spring is one of the most exciting moments in viticulture. The vines have started to grow, the shoots are already developing well, and everything is moving fast under warm, ideal conditions. At places like Seehof, the focus is now on careful work in the vineyard — especially shoot thinning (locally called “Schabigen” in Alto Adige), an essential step to guide the vines and ensure quality for this year’s production. With steady growth, uniform shoots, and the first signs of flowering just weeks away, everything is pointing toward a promising vintage 🍷 Thank you to everyone who shared their insights — and to all the dedicated hands behind Alto Adige wines. You make every glass possible. #LabourDay #VineyardLife #Winemaking #AltoAdige #WineCulture
