We have had a fantastic day at the Northamptonshire Heritage Fair at Wicksteed Park showcasing what Northamptonshire has to offer. It was great to speak with so many different people about Althorp’s history and upcoming events 🏛️
Over the next week, we’ll be hiding some Golden Tickets in book stores across Northamptonshire 🤩
The first one has been hidden just now! We will be posting clues to the others as soon as they have been hidden. There will be 12 to find in total … Good Luck!🤞🏻
Advance booking is required by 05.05.26. Only one Golden Ticket can be redeemed per person. Golden Tickets cannot be exchanged for cash.

For those of you attending the Althorp Literary Festival in May, you may notice that our front lawns aren’t currently looking their best!
This is because they are undergoing an extensive programme of renovation to improve their long-term health and appearance. The lawns have been treated to remove weeds and moss, scarified in multiple directions to reduce thatch, and reseeded with a high-quality dwarf rye grass mix.
They have also received a application of control release fertiliser to support growth over the coming months, along with a substantial sand dressing to improve drainage and soil structure.
Over the next week, we’ll be restoring areas that have settled with fresh topsoil and additional seeding.
Later in the year, the lawns will also be aerated to reduce compaction and keep them in excellent condition.
Thank you for your understanding, we’re looking forward to seeing the lawns greener, stronger, and better than ever soon 🌱
We’re looking for experienced, hands-on leaders to join our House Opening team at Althorp ☀️
The House Opening season runs from 1 July to 31 August.
As a Café Manager, you’ll ensure the smooth running of the café, overseeing food and drink preparation, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation, and helping to minimise visitor waiting times. You will also be responsible for ordering stock for the café throughout the season. As we have multiple Café Managers, you won’t be expected to work every day, but you will need to ensure that stock is ordered and maintained during periods when you are off.
As a Duty Manager, you’ll oversee the day-to-day running of House Opening, greet incoming coaches, ensure consistently high standards throughout the day, prepare the Estate for visitors, manage close-down procedures, and confidently handle challenges while leading the team.
If you have proven experience in a similar leadership role, along with strong management and communication skills, we’d love to hear from you.
Please send your CV to [email protected] to apply.
Kindly note that we’re unable to respond to direct messages regarding this role.
The 350-year-old oak staircase in the Saloon has been lovingly waxed by our fantastic team of housemen today 🧽
Generations have walked these steps, and it’s a privilege to help preserve their beauty and character for years to come.
