My project was inspired by the 2021 Pride protest in Istanbul with images of queer people being pulled and dragged by the police.
I recreated that moment, the movement of a shirt being pulled open, as a way to speak about vulnerability and resistance.
It’s a statement against the rise of queerphobia and a reminder that visibility is still a form of protest.
