I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to share version 1 of this creation on my new table with canes. It’s just the beginning. I never thought I would do canes, I never thought I was capable because of limitations I created in my lil head. That’s not reality, though. We’re capable of so much. I’m not double jointed, I started contortion at the age of 20, and a lot of my focus goes towards pole and aerial. But I’m disciplined, and perhaps slightly crazy, and found a way to make it work for me. I definitely encourage my students, and really any artist out there, to stay in your lane and find what works best for you…there’s nothing more special than putting something of yourself in your work. Despite the fact that I’m dressed up as the Cheshire Cat lol, this has been a sacred experience and means a lot to me. 💜
