I wish I was a better dad. (I’m not pandering for a response to that). I could be more present. I could be better at brushing their hair. I could be better at helping Wes with math. I could already have a treatment for Rose. I should have saved her by now.
I wrote this song about it last week. I wonder, if loving them to my fullest might be enough to cover my shortcomings. I wonder if the struggle of trying to be the best dad, is in fact how you become it. I hope it is.
