An excerpt from my upcoming release ”Knappt ett knyst”, this is part of the opening track from the album coming May 22 on @lamour_records as a digital release for streaming and Bandcamp.
This has been quite long in the making. The original parts for this album was recorded about two years ago and have been tweaked, mangled and added to since then. With the finishing last touches being made just a couple of weeks ago. It works very much a as a whole since all the foundations were made to be played as one live piece performed live at ”Elektrisk afton” in Norberg organized by @jonashbourne The visual representation for this album comes from @inkydigit who provided the original artwork. Thanks for the art, the booking/show and the release!

*** January17th - Alpha Mound & Sven Fredrik – Coarse Velvet ***
Alpha Mound is the creative outlet for Joakim Westlunds solo music. For nearly a decade now music has been released under this header with quite some range in styles but almost always leaning towards more relaxed sounds.
Percussionist Sven Fredrik made his solo debut in October 2021 with imaginative instrumental music in the borderland between electronica and psychavant garde. With drums as the main instrument, inspiration is taken from the local stage’s flourishing electronic sphere, nature and space. Sound worlds are painted with large brushes and small details.

Appendix-25 (Blizzard of ’26)
Made a little track here during the holidays. Kind of my usual ambient serving I guess, but that’s how I like it. Four years ago I released a track on new years eve called ”Appendix-21” so I guess this continues that tradition even though it is a couple of days late.
Started the track on only iPad so a lot of Animoog Z as a the foundation, looping it and reshaping loops in GAUSS Filed Looper and then moved that into to Ableton and played some modular stuff and ALT on top of that.

Been a a while since I did something for this series, this felt good working into a finished short format track otherwise it probably had a good chance of just being part of the sketch folder where a lot of unfinished things end up. Actually a collab with Svante that looped ALT through RC-505 by pressing buttons on random for the chord chops staring the track and going underneath it all. Cleaned it up a bit and pitched some chops around and then played all other stuff on top. Feels fitting for a rainy December without snow.
