The Almost Bookshelf - our first piece, handmade from solid cherry wood, defined by its subtly slanted shelves. This gentle angle allows stone spheres to roll along a channel, turning them into playful and dynamic bookends. Come say hi and touch stone at design week! @___offmenu @ngvmelbourne

Introducing Almost Robots, a design studio by @jedkellydesignAt its core, Almost Robots explores a world between minimal and mechanical design.My whole life I have been obsessed with puzzles, magicians and machines. The ways in which they work and the ways I still don't understand how they work.The goal with Almost Robots, is to find a balance between beautifully designed furniture and the strange gizmos and gadgets that inspire me.The first two pieces will be showing at @___offmenu for MDW 2026 alongside a group of amazing designers.We are planning a limited release of both designs in the coming months. It focuses on creating furniture and objects that challenge preconceived ideas around function and interaction.By prioritising play and curiosity before instruction, each object is designed to encourage discovery rather than following rules. Robots have rules, and we are not robots. Almost, but not quite. ~~~Off-Menu, organised by @sedni.studio, will be proudly displayed at Noise Complaint @noisecomplaint_au14/05-19/05, 11am-4pm daily, 35 Butler Street, Richmond. Entry via Little Butler Street.Melbourne Design Week is an initiative of the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria.
