July 28, 2024. The passing of @chinoxltribute was a day that shook us all. Nearly 8 months later, all we can do is put our best foot forward, unify under one common cause and hold our heads high to honor the Artistic Integrity, the Loving Father & the friend adored by many around the globe in that of Derek "Chino XL" Barbosa.
After Chi passed, the world quickly became divided as to whether M80 was the ANSWER or the CANCER and per the course, conjecture, misguided hatred and the opinions from anyone and everyone with an asshole began to spread. Though Chino had told his daughters, "M80 is someone who can be trusted", some still thought they knew better then me and somehow could attempt to insert themselves in the afterlife of Derek with far more importance then they actually held in his time on earth. A practice i will forever find to be gross & utterly disgusting.
So I worked my best, reached out to the family of Derek I have known for 17+ years and met many new people close to Derek along the way that have welcomed me with open arms. Not everyone was "an M80 fan" at first but the difference between the ones you see online shit talking my name & the others I have come to meet and love in light of Derek' passing were intelligent enough to vet me and do their research and understand, my movements are truly all about "Legacy Preservation" and advancing the Music of Chino XL forward for what's ultimately best for his family who have shown love & respect for me while all working together.
As of last night, I have officially WALKED 100% OF MY TALK...
The Master Rights to Chino XL's "Darkness & Other Colors" and "Map of Bones" + all profits derived have been officially GIFTED to @violetrevenge & @lyricc777_ , Chino's 2 youngest daughters who I believe will only move RIGHTEOUSLY to honor their father, a GIANT amongst MEN!
