🗣️UPDATE 🗣️ After taking a break on the project, all three of us have decided to wrap up our work on Almanac Press to focus our energies on our other projects. Doing Almanac Press the last few years was a huge learning experience, we grew from a super DIY zine into an internationally stocked publication, online publishing platform and mutual aid org in a very short period of time, which as you can imagine left us all on the edge of burnout and without energies for other things in our life. We are so happy with everything we put out, and all the people we got to meet at our launches, bookfairs, and through our open calls. We appreciate all of you!! Over the years we managed to raise a bunch of money for trans mutual aid, and were able to pay many trans contributors through our publications and work opportunities. Although we won’t continue the press, we want to emphasise that it has been hugely impactful and the skills and knowledge we learned will feed directly into our future projects supporting and platforming trans people. So now it’s time for us to focus on other exciting projects!! Roby is running @fantasyprint.house , a risograph printing house in Stockholm that offers workshops, skill sharing and printing opportunities! Shia and Iona are running @translibraryhelsinki , a physical library and community space with weekly open days, regular events and an annual trans film festival. We hope we can see some of you out there irl at our events, give us a follow to keep updated! We will keep our Almanac instagram page and website live as an archive and memory of our work. We’ve been selling them at book fairs and launches this past year… which means that we only have 45 copies left in stock… which means don’t wait on ordering this one.
