We had an amazing time at our second outreach visit of the year at the University of East Anglia.
The topics that were covered included;
* The importance of lived experiences and how they add value to chambers
* The responsibility of advocacy and representing others
* Communicating complex legal issues clearly to clients
* Understanding and acknowledging clientsโ lived experiences
* Being authentic in your journey to the Bar
* Developing a collegiate mindset within the profession
* Building a range of skills and experiences
* Gaining legal work experience (mini-pupillages, court shadowing, etc.)
It was a truly engaging session, with students actively contributing and reflecting on the realities of the Bar and the different pathways into the profession.
A huge thank you to Tom Lawal and also to our founder Precious Akowuah for delivering such insightful and practical guidance, and to Fiona Anthony and the entire UEA Law School for the warm welcome.
