| Meet the Sound Department Gerardo Pastor-Ruiz Production Sound Mixer "Tor Lewa was my second collaboration with @paulholbrookfilm and the first opportunity I had of working with @frankckeogh . The story and the psychological elements in it blew me away and gave me the chance to have some creative conversations with Paul and collaborate with the other crew members to make sure we could tell the story of Billy in the best possible way. Working with Frank was an incredible experience, and I was captivated by how someone gave so much into the character. I believed the performance I heard through my headphones on set and he always welcomed me and my team with a smile whenever we needed to adjust microphones. Working with @jamesoldhamdop and @themichaelsides again was a blessing. I had continuous conversations with both departments and that put me and my team in a position where we knew where the boom had to go and how we had to move on set. Lastly, I had the chance to work with Fin again, who stepped up as 1st AS and gave their all into this film, giving me a great chance to record the best sound for the film. Charlie joined me as a trainee for the first time and showed me an attitude and a passion I had not seen in a while, becoming a great help and a proper member of any sound department on set. Can you believe @thebottleyardstudios is just down the road from us?! We recently toured their amazing film/TV studio facilities (including their huge green screen and massive costume hire!) and learned more about how @allsetwest are bringing local young people into the industry. After the tour (thanks Jane!) our Co-Director Martha joined a conversation alongside experts from industry, education and community to support the All Set West team with decisions about key elements of the programme. 💚 THIS WEEK 🎬 Big thanks to @exetercollege for hosting Screen Devon as part of the Creative Industries Talks programme this week. It was a pleasure to present side-by-side with our friends at @thebottleyardstudios @allsetwest and @intofilm_edu 🙌🏻 We talked about the role of a Film Office and shared a few headlines from our first year in action. We had a fab day visiting The Bottle Yard Studios as part of our Industry Week. We toured the studio facilities, saw the incredible costume store, and learned more about working in TV and film through All Set West- thank you Jane and Jenny for an inspiring morning. The Bottle Yard Studios plays a huge role in bringing high-end creative work to Bristol, attracting productions to the city and supporting jobs across the South West. We’re especially proud that several of our graduates have gone on to work on high-end TV productions at The Bottle Yard. We’re so lucky to have world-class filming facilities right on our doorstep — another great reason to study right here in Bristol 🎬✨
