Even if they laugh, clap in the wrong place, or hold their ears, it’s an experience that will shape them into adulthood. Expose children to opera and classical music. Always. @balourdetquartet@seattlechambermusic
Join us on Tuesday evening, March 24 in Schneebeck Auditorium for three deeply expressive chamber music masterworks. We will complete this season's set of pieces by Marilyn Shrude with Sotto Voce (2012), a trio of textural and rhythmic intricacy. Acclaimed soprano Allison Pohl will join us for Shostakovich's "Seven Romances", based on the lyrical, symbolist poetry of Alexander Blok. Beethoven's trio Op. 70, No. 2 will close the concert -- although less well-known than its opus partner, the "Ghost" trio, it has the same richness and penchant for surprises. We can't wait to share this program with you!
** Marilyn Shrude: Sotto Voce (2012)
** Dmitri Shostakovich: Seven Romances on Poems by Alexander Blok, Op. 127
with Allison Pohl, soprano
** Ludwig van Beethoven: Piano Trio in E-flat major, Op.70 No.2

Honored to perform with my radiant pianist and dear friend @xiaohuipiano who effortlessly makes the piano sound like diamonds and silk and fireworks and gold and satin all at once
